The Southcote Neighbourhood Advice Centre was conceived through the voluntary work of members of the Southcote Residents Association, Granville Road Residents Association and Reading Borough Council. Opened in October 1995. The centre provides a valuable local resource for local people who need help, assistance or information on the many services provided by Reading Borough Council and gallons of leaflets on Reading wide things to do!
The Centre is located in Coronation Square, almost opposite the Southcote Clinic. The centre advice worker is Heather. The Advice Centre telephone number is 0118 9015316. Heather can offer advice and information on a wide range of Reading Borough Council's and other services such as:

  • Reporting and checking on repairs
  • Advice with rent arrears
  • Advice on benefits
  • Help and advice on form filling
  • How to get in touch with your residents' groups and other local groups Local information pack
  • Registration for mutual exchange and transfers
  • Details of council homes for exchange in Reading and other parts of the country

Heather can also provide you with information about a range of other stuff such as:

  • Details of schools in the area
  • Social services, i.e. home helps or childminders
  • Trading standards i.e. advice on buying a second hand car
  • Berkshire's countryside and events diary
